Detailed Itinerary

Our driver (no guide) will pick you up at 7.30am from your hotel’s lobby then transfers to Kulen elephant forest’s office in Siem Reap town. Next, the shuttle minivan/bus will leave at 8.00am with an hour drive to the Kulen Elephant forest which locates at the base of Kulen Mountain range. Once at the reserve, you will spend time to learn from the local tour guide to get understanding the way of elephants live, play and roam as well as knowing how they are being well taken care mostly through their natural habitat, observing their relationships and behaviors. At noon, retire to base camp and enjoy a traditional meal before heading back to Siem Reap (approx. 1.30pm).

Next, you will get picked up by our experienced tour guide and driver from Kulen elephant forest’s office then we’re heading out to Kompong Phluk village at Tonle Sap Lake. Once we arrived, we process to take a sheltered boat trip along canal toward the centre of Kampong Phluk village, the boat begins to slow down to let you enjoy the surrounding admired by amazing houses atop high poles, come across the highlight of fishing activities as well as see people selling fruits/vegetable/meats on their boats, you sometimes see kids in student uniforms coming back from their classes. Witness how life works on the water and how people make the lake as home then we resume take canoe to explore the pleasant mangroves, enjoy the serenity while taking picturesque photos and you may see a few waterbirds.

Continue by our boat to see the great lake of Tonle Sap, learn from your tour guide about ecosystem and its rich biosphere reserve.

Near the end of the trip, we will spend a lovely time of golden evening to capture the beautiful sun fading at horizon and do your best to take those amazing photos before the boat takes us back to the mainland then catch our awaiting car/minivan back to your hotel.

Experienced local tour guide at elephant sanctuary

Local English-speaking tour guide is provided by Kulen elephant sanctuary and their tour guide will mostly accompany you in the shuttle bus/van from the office in Siem Reap to the elephant camp at the foothills of Kulen mountain. In a very peak period, tour guide will not probably be with you in the shuttle bus/van.

Lunch is provided in the elephant tour and please let us know in advance if you have any food allergies/restrictions.

Transportation

Kulen elephant forest offers round trip air conditioning shuttle van/bus from/to Kulen elephant sanctuary and we provide private air conditioning car/minivan for round-trip transfer from/to your hotel and we use the same vehicle for the private tour to Kompong Phluk village at Tonle Sap Lake.

Cancellation and Payment

– Cancellation Policies: 75% refund over 48hrs, 50% refund under 48hrs, 0% refund under 24hrs
– Scheduling: Itineraries are subject to change or cancellation following weather conditions and the needs of our elephants.
– Lateness: All tours leave at the scheduled time, visitors are advised to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure. Missed tours are non-refundable and rescheduling is subject to availability.
– Liability: All visitors must sign a standard liability release waiver prepared and provided by Kulen Elephant Forest.

Dressing Code

You should wear whatever most comfortable but we highly recommend to dress appropriately to respect the locals. Recommended Items: Sports shoes, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, mosquito spray, an outfit that can get dirty.
